Dear Friend of St. Andrew,
On December 18, 1926, St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church first came together in a former synagogue located on the southwest corner of Winthrop and Hollywood in the City of Chicago. Ninety-Five Years later, our Church continues to serve the people of Edgewater at its permanent location on the southeast corner of Sheridan and Hollywood.
The Church of St. Andrew and its community has been and will continue to be a beacon of hope, outreach, and faith for not only those who have come through its doors, but also the many people our Church has served through the years. Whether you have attended Sunday School or Greek School in your youth, or whether you bonded with lifelong friends that you met in GOYA, YAL, Philoptochos, Parish Council, or at one of the many events our church ministries have offered, St. Andrew has endeavored to provide a home to make such relationships not only possible, but rich and vibrant.
Our celebration of this auspicious occasion will be held at the Fountain Blue Banquets Center on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Net proceeds and sponsorship gifts from this special 95th anniversary gala will directly support the beautification of our precious Church.
Please make a thoughtful and generous gift for this special milestone in our parish life.
Your servants in Christ,
Rev. Fr. Dimitri Tobias, Pastor
V. Rev. Archimandrite Simeon Johnson
Mrs. Terri Mikuzis, Parish Council President
